The Rosé Strings takes our name in honor of Alma Rosé who was arrested and deported to Auschwitz-Birkenau during World War II.

Shortly after her arrival at the concentration camp it was discovered that Alma was a violinist.  By sheer courage and determination she turned a threadbare musical ensemble of women into a viable orchestra.  She trained them, arranged music for the mismatched group and drove them, and herself, into exhaustion.  Gaining unprecedented stature, she saved her musicians from demise and obtained some privileges and favors for them.  Alma will always be remembered for all her inspiration.

Rosé Strings was originally formed in 2002 as a string trio but has since expanded as a business to accommodate requests for string quartet, duo, solo, and multiple non-stringed instruments such as harp, guitar, flute, and piano.  We are all highly trained, full-time professional musicians that hold degrees from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music and other major American and European conservatories.  Our past and present musician contractors play professionally in the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance and work as substitutes in the Cincinnati and Columbus Symphonies.  We offer a wide range of repertoire to accommodate your special day and our primary goal is to provide you with personalized service and high-quality music for your wedding ceremony and reception.  We also add elegance to a cocktail or dinner hour or corporate event.
